Very high demand prevents us from accepting the sale of excess baggage on certain routes in Africa during some periods of the year.
During this embargo it is not permitted to book and sell any extra baggage for the following routes and dates:
Having as a final destination Abidjan, Accra, Bissau*, Dakar, Praia, Sao Vicente and Sao Tome
Easter - from 19 March to 04 April 2021
Summer - from 10 June to 12 Sep 2021*
Christmas - from 11 December 2021 o 9 January 2022*
*To OXB the summer embargo applies from 10 June to 30 September 2021; the Christmas embargo applies from 13 November 2021 to 09 January 2022.
Having as a departure point Abidjan and Accra
Easter - from 05 April to 12 April 2021
Summer - from 10 June to 12 September 2021
New Year’s –from 26 December 2021 to 9 January 2022
No excess baggage (weight and/or dimensions) or extra luggage will be accepted. Only the baggage that is included on the fare issued and within the regular allowance, i.e, the sum of the three dimensions (height, width and length) not exceeding 158 cm and a maximum weight of 23 kg in Economy class or 32 kg in Business class.
This restriction applies to all tickets, regardless of the type of product purchased or Frequent Flyer status, with the exception of the tap|discount ticket, where one piece of paid baggage (FBAG = first bag) can be added.
Any request of SBAG, XBAG, BULK, SPEQ, AVIH, MUSM, MUSL will not be accepted.
New reservations for travel on those dates and routes (according to the mentioned direction of travel) will receive status “UC” or “NO”.
When booking connecting flights, “UC” or “NO” messages will only be sent to the flight of the above-mentioned routes. Feeder or de-feeder flights will not receive such status, so be careful not to book an extra bag or service on one of these flights (as it will not be accepted on the African route).
