Passenger contacts on bookings

Passenger Contacts on Bookings are a must, especially on these extraordinary times.


In the event of any irregularity, TAP is obliged to inform all passengers in a timely manner.

Therefore TAP requests all travel agents to add passengers' contacts on bookings, either telephone number and/or email address.

According to the IATA Resolution 830d, since  June 1, 2019, it is recommended that travel agents actively ask for and insert this data on the PNRs.

Besides the legal reasons TAP aims to provide the best possible service and care.

If the passengers do not wish to disclose their contacts, an SSR CTCR with the text REFUSED should be added to the PNR.

Automatic notifications

TAP developed an automatic notification service, via SMS and e-mail, aiming to improve the communication with their customers.

In order to enjoy this facility, the passenger only needs to provide his/her mobile phone number and e-mail address at the time of reservation, thus being able to have, at any time, useful information about the state of his flight, as well as access to all the necessary information for a more pleasant travel experience.

At an early stage, this service will send passengers notifications in Portuguese or English about specific situations regarding their flights status, including check-in opening, flight time changes (unplanned changes occurring on the departure of a flight), any alteration of the boarding gate (if there is a change of the boarding gate originally assigned, the passenger is informed of this change via SMS).

Regardless of the number of passengers included in one reservation, these notifications will only be sent to one of the contacts in the reservation.

It’s very important that Travel Agencies cooperate by adding passengers contacts on bookings. Passengers will praise good service.

Notifications can be sent in 9 Languages and according to the specific format of “APN”.  If no language specified, the notification will be sent by default in English.
