COVID-19 - AVIH in connecting flights to be resumed on the 5th of August
Last updated on: 04 Aug 2020

Following the progressive resumption of the operation, as of August 5, 2020, restrictions on the transport of AVIH for connecting flights will be lifted.

On flights to and from the USA, weight restrictions do not apply to assistance dogs (ESAN) who can thus travel in the cabin. However, this exception does not apply to connecting flights outside the USA, where they will have to be transported in the hold (AVIH). Thus, in the case of connecting flights, the transfer time between flights cannot be less than 3 hours.
Example: EWR-LIS (in the cabin) + LISMAD (in the hold) = transfer in LIS ≥ 3 hours
